Feature: Ernest Williamson III Day 4

The Gray Areas Between You & Me

splattered treble clefts
left in A minor
major chords
left to the kiss of yesteryear
have dallied in the waste
of forced rhythm
rhyme
is
time
elevated with galosh
in other words
next to these
shadows
remnants
of B
flats
bulging
with melody
for well-wishers
of piano paint
black, white, and
red
with being read
through translation
I know not
what I mean
though hands are
held
frequently
between
you
and
me
